Infinite jets vs microcosm6/24/2023 ![]() If I didn't have any reverb or weird factor type things, then I'd pick up the microcosmĮdit, one more thing, mood is great for low fidelity stuff, like "bad reverb sounds" lol clock noise and weird broken tape style aesthetics, while the microcosm is high quality everything like super expansive lush reverbs and delays. That's probably the biggest difference in terms of outcome when you use them with synths. Probably have more fun with volcas with a microcosm if you want to do big ambient things. Personally I had a MOOD for a couple months and didn't really get along with it. It's great at what it does but suppose it just wasn't right for me-I found myself wishing I could loop longer phrases (understanding that it's not really meant for that), and didn't love that without MIDI/expression you're fairly limited in terms of ramping (just square and triangle waves at a steady rate). So it's a pedal that kind of demands to be played on the fly if you want something more dynamic/less predictable. On top of that, while the Old Blood side sounds great, I just didn't really need any of it with plenty of other pedals on my board. Ultimately the Red Panda Tensor took over that spot for glitchy loop stuff and I may eventually try out a Microcosm for the ambient/granular stuff downstream and in stereo. That said, it's certainly a fun pedal and I had no problem learning my way around it, but in the end just didn't find it added too much to my setup. Your mileage may vary, and it can definitely do some cool stuff with Volcas if that's something you see yourself doing a lot of.The range of options available on the Hologram Electronics Microcosm Granular Pedal is truly astonishing, as each of the 11 unique effects offers four preset variations. The 11 effects are grouped into four categories by similarity, so there are three micro loop effects, three granule effects, three glitch effects, and two multi-delay effects. The sound can be customised even further, as the pedal also controls pitch modulation, stereo reverb, and a resonant low-pass filter. The Hologram Electronics Microcosm Granular Pedal is a one-stop-shop for granular effects. Although the IJ loops the sound samples for a short time, it can't be used as a looper with layers and undo etc. The Microcosm has more delivered presets and user presets.Īll in one pedal, the options are limitless. There is some overlap in the effect types but there are definite differences. The pedal also comes equipped with a 60-second looper, along with 16 memory slots for recall of user presets. ![]() The fourth addition to this list is the Hologram Microcosm, probably my favorite guitar pedal. The customisation appears limitless when you consider the other controls, including activity and time control, modulation frequency and depth, and mix. If you were gonna get one effects processor as a producer, this might be it. ![]() you're 'doting' on these pedals, like a granny her grandson.I have their other one, the Infinite Jets, and this is like the perfected version of that pedal. $1000 down is the AntiDote! Note how the word "antidote" has the word 'dote' in it. It's not reeeeal, man, it's not reeeeal!!!!!!!!!!! you're 'doting' on these pedals, like a granny her grandson. I even studied the Manual and it STILL never occurred to me that Ct5 doesn't 'remember' settings after Power Down/Up! Like, couldn't sooooomeone have accidentally brought up, "You know, I keep losing my settings"? I'm sure they did and I blazed on thru. The Demos, and Talk, and Imagining were all too much for me. you know what I mean? The Legend, and the Pedal, to me, are two totally different experiences. Ct5 is a LEGEND: the pedal I got 'seems' like a ProtoType!!! I mean. Ct5 is the pedal I IMAGINED in my head prior to actually receiving 'That Blue Homemade Lookin' Pedal'. But then I realize MOST people are somewhat mystified by a lot of these pedals. I'm still coming to terms with my Ct5 and Zellersasn LIMITATIONS- things I thought they did before I got them, and now, to my amazement, wonder why NO ONE alerted me to x, y, or z. This type of complex pedal is just so easy to misunderstand before buying. and now he's got the Microcosm and is pining for Ct5 and still Tensorless.hmmm. I want LaserBeams, and Jets and Missles!!! ![]() just layer all this bla bla under your playing, and then add more wow wow for Leads? I figured it out!Īny slow song would do I suppose. I'm trying to figure out which actual !!!SONG!!! I can use Tensor, mtl.asm, Microcosm/Jets/Dream, Fabrikat, Glitchy McGlitcher, or what have you. I would luuuv to hear more along these lines.
