Image plus camera control6/24/2023 You even have options to take a series of multiple bulb exposures with varying ISO settings (I think this can depend on your camera model, I use a Canon 400D). There are options to convert and view images on screen 'on-the-fly' or have them saved straight to a folder in RAW format for processing later. At the moment everything is set to default and you might notice your webcam looking softer than it should and also cropped. Webcam Properties: Resolution and Frame Rate. Add your camera as a source and go to its properties. This gives you pin pointed stars every time (polar alignment permitting!). Add your webcam as a source and then right-click and choose Properties. You then snap away as it analyses the stars while you adjust the focuser each time until you reach the best 'score'. you set your camera take say 5 sec exposures. Another GODSEND function is the focusing tool. I use the USB cable alongside a modified serial cable for multiple bulb shots which is fantastic if you like the idea of letting your camera snap away while you go in and get a cuppa. very very handy to help u get your head around the multitude of image processing functions. The supplied CD's are full of real time screen demo's with narration. I've not had the weather to test it extensively, but it seems to work and is easy to use. It will save images to the card or the computer. Once the focus is sorted you can set the parameters for automatically taking stacks of images with different timings, ISO's etc. For non stellar objects (the Moon or Terrestrial) you can use the Max Brightness routine which works in a similar way to the the other two, with scores and graphs. ImagesPlus has two routines for stellar objects - FWHM and the recommended Half Flux Diameter (supposed to be better than FWHM in poor to average seeing conditions). ![]() Each one gets a score and the graph is updated, so you can see which way the focus is going. The next and subsequent subs that you take are automatically shown zoomed in the box. You chose a suitable star or feature (if non stellar) in a box and this is auto zoomed for the first frame. The image from the camera appears full screen size on the monitor. With the other cable you can get over 30 secs.įocussing is achieved by taking a few test subs. I only used the USB cable, and not the special serial cable so could only get subs up to 30 secs. I did use it on a couple of times and it worked fine. Then, turn on the settings you'd like to use.I've used ImagesPlus for several months now for processing, but only started to try the 350D DSLR functions just before the deluge. To access these settings, select Start > Bluetooth & devices > Camera and select your front-facing camera. You'll see the changes immediately and the changes will be saved as the new default settings. Windows will start the camera, display a preview, and show controls to adjust various settings. Select the camera from the list of connected cameras. Type manage cameras in the search bar on the Start menu, and then select Manage cameras from the results. However, apps using the camera may apply different settings at any time while using the camera-not every app will use the default settings. When an app uses the camera, the camera starts with default settings. The settings are stored for each camera and each user account-they don't synchronize between multiple Windows devices. In Camera settings, you can set default settings for each camera. These include infrared (IR) cameras used for Windows Hello Face authentication, cameras using DirectShow technology (like many apps provided by DSLR or action camera manufacturers so their devices can be used as webcams), and proprietary cameras that aren't managed by Windows-such as industrial cameras and many networked cameras. ![]() Note: Some cameras won't appear in the Camera settings page.
